The Town of Sunset Beach closed the beach strand and all beach accesses today. The Town Park will, also, be closed and movement within Town limits will be restricted. Rentals, both short term and long term, of any kind will be prohibited.
Today, Brunswick County saw 2 additional confirmed cases but only 14 new tests. I won’t beat a dead horse but all the “promising” signs of a reduction in confirmed cases or a “slowing of the spread” due to a “lack of testing” is simply flawed. We should be rapidly testing, isolating and establishing a “system” to deal with this crisis instead of worrying about “the numbers” or misleading the public into thinking this thing is magically going to disappear.
It is shocking to me that we continue to act so ridiculous as humans. We point the finger, blame, name call and ridicule mistakes instead of leaving the past in the past and moving forward with today. This won’t change, it is a societal norm. Yet, through this crisis we are going to be exposed to some of the “extremes” of society. The “outlier” individuals who do both good and bad. We will be more drawn to the “negative” individuals who berate us online and off. We must find a way to push through this sea of negativity and focus on the good. Find the positive and relish in the gratitude of today.
